Root to Crown Hands-On (prerequisite: Endo AM lecture)

2 Credit Hours 

You must take the Root to Crown Solution (the AM course) to participate in this hands-on portion of the course. Limited to 50 attendees.

Each step of endodontically treating and restoring a tooth is connected. This course walks through each step of root canal therapy – with each building on the success of the previous phase. From diagnostic protocol through coronal restoration, learn techniques for clinical success at every step needed to take the patient out of pain, restore function to the tooth while maintaining the proper aesthetic, and enhance long term success.

Course Objectives:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment Planning — A complete understanding of the factors of each case
  • Endodontic Access — Creating a proper access cavity is critical
  • Shaping Utilizing the Most Advanced File Technology — Choices for imparting an appropriate shape to the canal
  • Irrigation — Importance of removal of infection-causing bacteria
  • Antibacterial Dressings — Inter-appointment medicaments and temporizing teeth
  • Obturation — Pros and cons of sealers and obturation techniques
  • Coronal Restoration of the Endodontically Treated Tooth — Choosing between direct vs. indirect restoration

Dr. Michael Ribera

Dr. Ribera is a 1984 graduate of Boston College and a 1989 graduate of Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In 1990 he completed a general practice residency at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and in 1992 received his Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science Degree from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago.

Dr. Ribera is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a member of the Endodontic College of Diplomates, and a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists. He is the 2006 recipient of the District of Columbia Dental Society’s David Mast Memorial Award for excellence in continuing education. Dr. Ribera is in full-time practice and maintains three offices in the Washington, D.C. Area.
